Irwell Community Health is looking for an experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join its day surgery unit in central Manchester. You will lead a small nursing team, support patients before and after minor procedures, and help keep the unit running safely and smoothly.
The unit is open Monday to Friday, so there are no night or weekend shifts. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and healthcare assistants, and you will have protected time each month for training and supervision.
What you will do
- Coordinate the nursing team on each shift and allocate patients
- Carry out pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
- Support and mentor newly qualified nurses and students
- Keep accurate clinical records and take part in audits
